Earth Observation

Earth Observation deals with methods to study of the surface of the Earth based on satellite or airborne image data. The approaches can be divided into geophysical, where the spectral information in time series of data is converted into bio/geophysical variables, and statistical, where the images form the basis for analysis of spatial phenomena. Main application areas are process modeling in hydrology, climate and studies of vegetation, land use - and land use changes. Field experiments and in situ measurements play an important role, and the research is very data demanding and heavily dependant on computing power. The remote sensing innovation company GRAS A/S is associated to the platform. Read more...
