A few lines about the lecture:

Title: Climate Change and the Anthropocence: Where on Earth are We Going?

This presentation will put climate change into a broader context of global environmental and socio-economic changes that are sweeping across the planet. The concept of the Anthropocence, in which human forces now equal or exceed some of the great forces of Nature in terms of their impact on the global environment, will be used to organise the presentation. After describing the rapidly accelerating human imprint on the Earth, the presentation will offer a few thoughts about the future. Are we on the verge of a great transformation towards sustainability or are we headed for collapse?
